Cut your knitting! How to work a crochet reinforced steek

Cut your knitting! How to work a crochet reinforced steek

In this video I'm demonstrating how to reinforce and cut steeks on a cardigan, using the Galdor cardigan I designed as an example.

The advantage of steeking is that it allows you to knit a cardigan in the round, and cut the front and armholes afterwards. The crochet reinforcement means that the cut edges won't unravel.

When choosing yarn for a project that's going to be steeked, I'd suggest always using something with a lot of grip to it, like non-superwash wool.
